DALESRAIL TESTIMONIALS
Tuesday, November 17th, 2009An article by Ron Freethy in the Lancashire Telegraph (click here to see the full article), about visiting Long Meg and her Daughters at Little Salkeld in Cumbria, has generated two glowing testimonials about the LCC sponsored DalesRail services. The first from ‘happycyclist’, Darwen reads;
A better option is to wait till next summer, leave the car at home, and go on the DalesRail, which stops at both Langwathby and Lazonby – with Long Meg being roughly inbetween – so that circular walks can be taken from either station, or a linear walk from station to station.
And the Dails Rail service, with two trains running between Blackburn and Carlisle in the summer months is not only one of the most picturesque routes in the country, it’s also possibly the friendliest train in the country – no yobs, rude people, beer cans, people talking loudly on mobile phones or listening to music on their phones, it’s all very civilised and enjoyable.
The second by ‘Noiticer’ (sic), Blackburn reads;
FARES FAIR
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009Fares for the DalesRail service in 2010 have been held and some instances they have been reduced.
Northern Rail has issued a brief of the fares and we are pleased to see that there are no increases in any fares and the DalesRail Duo ticket is to continue. Fares from Manchester, Salford Crescent, Bolton and Chorley have been reduced for journeys to Lazonby, Armathwaite and Carlisle.
